At Emmanuel School we strive to create a musical community that is rich with cultural, social, and artistic diversity. We aim to inspire each child to become a creative and innovative musician and seek to find and nurture musical talents.
We like to offer all children a wide range of musical opportunities. Our choir and band rehearse once a week after school and perform throughout the year at many school events.
We are very excited to now have our very own Brass Band, with every child in Quartz class learning a brass instrument.
All children in KS1 and KS2 have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument with our visiting Camden Music Service tutors. The instruments on offer are piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and voice. We encourage children learning these instruments to work towards taking music exams.
We are very excited to be on our way to achieving a Sing Up Silver Award in our school. Striving for this award gives us a chance to build on all of the fantastic singing that already goes on in our school.
If you’re keen to get more involved in singing with your child at home, have a look on the Sing Up website, www.singup.org. You can register yourself and have access to some free songs that you could sing with your child. Why not teach your child a song that is important to you or your family that they could come in and share with the rest of their class?
Keep a watch out for an opportunity in the summer term to register for your place at our ‘Big Sing’. This is an annual event in our school that gives parents/carers the opportunity to come and rehearse in school and perform as part of a choir alongside your child.
The Big Sing!
We are very excited to host our annual ‘Big Sing’ at Emmanuel School. You will be notified if you have been successful in securing a place for this event on 20th May. See below the songs you will be singing on the day that you can practice beforehand with your child at home.
