Parents, Teachers & Friends Association
The Parents & Friends of Emmanuel (PFE) organise social and fundraising events and activities, which can be enjoyed by children, parents and staff. We work closely with Miss Fitzsimmons and the rest of the teaching staff to ensure that the funds raised go towards supplementary equipment, trips/activities and resources that benefit every child at Emmanuel.
What we funded 2014/2015
We had a incredible year, funding over £14,000 worth of activities and resources for the school including a Rights Respecting Art Project for the whole school, art workshops for each class, new mural, new books for the EYFS, Emmanuel branded hi vis vests, graduation gowns for year 6, contribution towards the leavers/prize giving books, the end of year school disco plus a few other treats!
Projects 2015 /2016
The priority project was to raise funds for ‘Enrichment Opportunities’ for all the children. This included trips to the theatre, musicals, workshops in school and sporting activities.
This year’s priority project is raising money to purchase new ICT equipment. This will include new Google Chromebooks to use across all lessons throughout the school.
Who represents the PFE?
To help organise events, chair meetings and work with the school, the PFE is represented by a committee of parent volunteers from different year groups in the school. From September 2015 they are as follows:
Chair: Elizabeth Groat
Vice Chair: Bernadette Dear
Committee Members: Jane Marshall, Tracy Knight, Sonia Deveney, Alexis Mintz, Tim Gardner.
Each class in the school has a class representative, a parent or parents who help to send out information to each class, sell tickets and is a general point of contact for each class for the PFE.
How can you help?
These activities, trips and resources are only possible with the valuable support we receive from parents, friends and local businesses. Whether you can attend meetings to help organise events, provide a special skill, volunteer your time or spend your pounds at events, everything you do counts and helps us achieve a huge amount for the school.
For more information, please speak to a PFE committee member or your class representative.
