Our School Council is made up of 2 pupils from each class from Year 2 to Year 6. They apply for the position in September and meet weekly with our Learning Mentor.
Soon after the School Council Election, our newly elected councillors attend a training day with other schools and learn how to be effective School Councillors. They discover that a crucial part of their job is ensuring that the ‘pupil’s voice’ is heard and their opinions are taken into account.
When School Council meet they discuss topics raised in class and make suggestions based on this feedback.
Some of the projects that School Council have worked on have been:
- Whole school disco
- Children in Need
- ‘Emmanuel’s Got Talent’ Talent Show
- Healthy tuck shop
- Working with the eco team
- Pyjama day
