At Emmanuel School we strive to create a musical community that is rich with cultural, social, and artistic diversity. We aim to inspire each child to become a creative and innovative musician and seek to find and nurture musical talents.

We like to offer all children a wide range of musical opportunities. Our choir and orchestra rehearse once a week after school and perform throughout the year at many school events.

We are very excited to now have our very own Brass Band, with every child in Year 5 and Year 6 class learning a brass instrument.

All children in KS1 and KS2 have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument with our visiting Camden Music Service tutors. The instruments on offer are piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and voice. We encourage children learning these instruments to work towards taking music exams.

Camden Music Service

The Camden Music Service has two Saturday centres with an extensive range of music making opportunities at both.

The Junior Centre is based at Brecknock Primary School.  For children aged 0-6, the Crescendo music classes offer a range of fun introductory music activities.  For children aged 6-10, they offer a range of activities including Camjam Voices, Camband, beginners orchestra, drumming and keyboard groups as well as music technology.  Click here for more information.

The Senior centre is based at Camden School for Girls for Year 6 pupils and above.  They offer a comprehensive range of instrumental tuition, orchestras and instrumental groups, choirs including the Camden Youth choir, together with theory classes, exam preparation, chamber groups, music technology and composition.  Click here for more information.

Supergroups- there is still space in October half-term for Supergroups.  To be in a Supergroup, you will need to be in Years 3-6; have learnt your instrument for at least two terms, be able to play and read at least 5 notes and enjoy focussing for a whole weekend of music making.
