Jewels School, Sierra Leone

Emmanuel Primary School is privileged to work in partnership with Wellspring Church, to support Jewels School in Allen Town, Sierra Leone.

Jewels School is a primary school with over 200 pupils. It was opened in 2006 by Georgiana Kargbo, a gifted and inspirational leader. The school is in an otherwise forgotten neighbourhood, outside the capital city, Freetown and the 11 teachers are doing a fantastic job in difficult conditions and with limited resources. Due to the generosity of people within the Emmanuel School Community and other supporters, dedicated teachers are kept in paid work, the pupils are receiving a good education and are becoming well rounded individuals.

Two teachers from Emmanuel School have visited Jewels School on several occasions. They have supported the Sierra Leonean teachers and pupils through leading staff training, modeling lessons and improving the classroom environment by creating book corners and display boards. Pupils from Emmanuel school generously donated resources before the last visit and a reading book was given to each pupil at Jewels School as a result. Watch a short Thank You video below.

Emmanuel School has raised money for the teachers and children of Jewels School through many events; mufti days, carol singing in our local community and a cake sale.
