In RE, Sapphire have been learning about Islam and they were extremely fortunate to have Dr Hoque come into school to lead a Q&A session. Dr Aminul Hoque is a lecturer in the Educational Studies Department at Goldsmiths College. His writing and work focuses on multicultural Britain, identity, social justice, youth policy, religion and race relations. Sapphire learnt about the origins of the Islam religion, its key aspects and they were also able to ask their own questions to find out more about the religion. All the children found the visit extremely interesting and even learnt some Arabic!
